We’re thrilled to announce that rewards for the new RON liquidity pools go live on the Katana DEX today! The emission rewards from WETH pairs will transition to new RON pairs. This is an important step in preparation for RON staking as it will make RON more liquid and accessible.

What is a Liquidity Pool?

A liquidity pool is a specific pair of tokens locked in a smart contract and acting as a market maker. It gives traders the ability to exchange the tokens in the pool. For example, RON and WETH make up a liquidity pool on Katana. Traders can use that liquidity pool to exchange RON for WETH and vice-versa. This removes the need to match buyers with sellers and ensures a 24/7 market for particular token pairs. Plus, liquidity providers earn rewards from trading fees within their liquidity pools.

How To Get Started

Step 1

Deposit liquidity into a RON liquidity pool to receive LP tokens.

Step 2

Stake those LP tokens and receive RON rewards.

When you stake your LP tokens in Step 2, you will receive RON rewards in proportion to your contribution to the original pool.

Here are the new RON pools and their emission rewards. 

• RON/WETH liquidity pool emission rewards will total ~60,422 RON per day  

• RON/AXS liquidity pool emission rewards will total ~24,169 RON per day 

• RON/SLP liquidity pool emission rewards will total ~12,084 RON per day 

• RON/USDC liquidity pool emission rewards will total ~24,169 RON per day 

Please note that emission rewards from WETH/AXS and WETH/SLP pools have ended, but the pools themselves will remain open. We have updated the UI to prevent further deposits into the farms for the old liquidity pools. For liquidity providers who were in those liquidity pools, please withdraw and consider transitioning to the RON pools. In addition, the Katana analytics dashboard will reflect correct liquidity positions from the new RON pools within one week. Finally, we expect price slippage on Katana to be high for a few hours after the rewards are live.

The opening of these new liquidity pools is an important step towards Ronin’s groundbreaking migration to DPoS. These new pools will also make it easier to acquire and stake RON.
