Developers can now easily test and deploy smart contracts on Saigon.
We’re testing Ronin’s upgrade to Delegated Proof of Stake (DPOS).
We’ve open-sourced 3 crucial codebases.
Today, Ronin embarks on the next step of its journey. We’re proud to announce the release of Saigon– a Ronin testnet for builders and developers!
Saigon, a fleshed out development playground, will allow anyone, anywhere to show the merit of their work and make the case for their deployment on Ronin.
Ronin: Delegated Proof Of Stake
We are in the process of upgrading and updating Ronin’s consensus mechanism (how data is validated and secured) to proof of stake. This means that soon you’ll be able to stake your RON tokens through a validator and earn rewards for helping to protect the network.
To prepare for this, we’ve deployed a dashboard for Validator onboarding on Saigon. We’ve also deployed a dashboard where users can stake their RON tokens through a validator of their choice.

Deploying Smart Contracts
Saigon allows any developer to start deploying smart contracts. You can acquire RON through the Testnet Faucet.
You can also now integrate with Ronin wallet, Katana, and the Ronin bridge contract on Saigon.
Developers can now deploy both ERC20 and ERC721 tokens on Saigon.
We expect developers to start deploying experimental contracts around (but not limited to):
Axie team and guild management
NFT collateralization and trading
Community-built Axie games
Esports tooling and payouts
Open Sourcing Ronin
As we continue to make Ronin more accessible and transparent, we’ve released the source code for the Ronin protocol, Bridge, and DPOS smart contract.
